Thursday Pic Tip: Put the camera down | Orange County Family Photographer

Yes, I said it.  Today’s pic tip is different from what I generally teach people in my Workshops when they ask how to take candid photos of their kids.  I usually tell them practice makes better and better photos of their kids because they get use to you talking to them from behind the camera and you get quicker at adjusting your settings to take the shot.

However, today I am asking you to put the camera down for just enough time to let them see your eyes and share something with you.  Be it something cool they saw at school or a new joke they heard, emotion comes out as soon as you get them involved.  You see their eyes light up and have a real expression beyond them just saying “cheeeeeeese.”
