I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since announcing my wedding packages.  With much appreciation to my clients who single-handedly spread the news, they introduced me to some incredibly special couples to capture their wedding day my first year offering them.

Like my families, my goal for documenting this special day for couples is to capture their uniqueness, traditions and each couple’s perspectives on what celebrating love means to them.  For some, it’s an intimate celebration, while others can’t wait to shout it out from the mountain tops.  I want to be there for all of them.

I am thrilled and so humbled to introduce you to my very first couple, Mr. and Mrs. Kim.

I couldn’t be more blessed to have met them through mutual friends and clients as they shared with me how simple of a wedding they were planning, focusing on their immediate family who patiently waited for their big day.

My favorite thing about them was how easy going they were, arriving at the church in the same car, but mostly understanding that their union means something far beyond today’s modern day wedding reception.  They kept it intimate by inviting only thier immediate family, nieces and nephews to a pretty church before heading to a sumptious seafood dinner continuing thier celebration at the upscale, Truluck’s in La Jolla.  They, then, planned an even more gorgeous reception later in the summer for extended family and friends.

Join me now and check out thier intimately chic wedding nuptuals.  (Sharing the big reception photos in a bit!)

I love surprises…don’t you?!

I think the best part about surprises is that you have no control over the gift that was planned out just for you.  I remember when my husband planned a birthday surprise party for me at our house.  I had no expectations at all…none.  In less than 2 hours, while I got a pedicure with a friend, he managed to decorate our backyard and serve up an amazing multi-course surf and turf dinner for me and our neighborhood friends to wish me a happy birthday.  And I had NO IDEA.

It was the best thing…he has a knack for surprising me.

You see, surprises are actually blessings.  Blessing because someone other than you took the time to think this “idea” would be perfect.

These M twins are just that…a blessing.  Just when their mama thought she was content with the two gorgeous girls she had, completing their family of four…SURPRISE!  God did not think so.  He obviously had a plan completely different than what she thought.  He blessed them with a family of SIX!  And it sure is a blessing and surprise!

These two little ladies COMPLETED their family in so many ways.  And I had the absolute pleasure of capturing their sweet faces just after they received their first sacrament, baptism.

Congratulations to your whole family for these sweet little blessings!

Before I post their recent newborn session, I first have to share these fun moments before they became a family of 4.  I really have to thank social media for this because the reality of the situation is that I never would of reconnected with an old college friend and his wife, who I also know from childhood friends, without it!  Even more so, my best friend and her husband photographed their wedding!  You really can’t stay more “in the family” than that and I feel very blessed and so proud to present this session.

I was even more happy to find this awesome location right in their neighborhood!  Luckily, we didn’t run into any wildlife except for the cute goats they kept behind the gates.  Come take a walk with me through this hidden treasure right in the heart of Rancho Penasquitos, San Diego.

There’s nothing like celebrating incredible milestones…especially anniversaries.  In the past few months, I’ve been blessed to document some incredible and timeless wedding moments, but I have to say…documenting a 40th wedding anniversary is pretty darn special.

I was thrilled Becky contacted me to be a part of their “low-key” surprise celebration.  Low-key because they wanted it to be intimate and without too much fuss.  It’s not easy coordinating 5 families from all over the West Coast for a specific weekend, so she did what I would of done.  Rent a house, get the kids together, celebrate their parents and connect, just like back in the day.

I loved hearing stories of them growing up, going to Disneyland, who was homeschooled, and, especially, who the favorite is.  Documenting it was like being a fly on the wall of their childhood.  They made me miss my family.  They reminded me that no matter the differences, if we just go back to our childhood roots, we have more in common than we thought.  Their love for these two special people was eminent and forever…gorgeous examples of love’s strength.

Join me now for this intimate celebration on the hills of gorgeous Fallbrook, California.
